Have you ever observed there are quite a gazillion of supplements being sold in the market today? With the promise that such supplement will help in improving a person’s health or fitness. Whether this is true or not, it is a question that we all should seek. The thing that most of these companies do is that they make unproven claims in order to sell the product. They are in it for the profit without even thinking the part of the consumers, the lost of their hard earned money and worst, what if such can lead to medical complication. Then, this is going to be a whole new ball game.
Good thing that the government has the Federal Trade Commission and Food and Drug Administration. These two agencies work hand in hand in order to combat deceptive advertising than by companies in order to lure people to purchase their products. Most often than not, the health claims being made for such health supplements devices or even food is unproven or false. What is even worst, over the years there has been a growing trend of advertising food with unproven claims that they reduce the risk of certain serious illnesses such as heart disease. This alone is very alarming. What you might think that helps you lower down the risk of having a heart disease is in fact doing nothing at all; you will surely do something in order to get your money back. You are not just spending your hard earned money in order to buy something to swallow or eat yet have no effect on you at all.
If you think and strongly believe that you are a victim of misleading or false advertising with these health and fitness products, then all you have to do is to contact FTC. From there, you should file for a claim. However, before you even attempt to file a claim you need to hire a bankruptcy lawyer. He will give you an honest advice as to whether or not you have a direct claim. The thing of being able to file a claim is that you would be able to get a refund or get compensated in case you have suffered injuries due to using the product being falsely advertised. Not only that, you would be able to get punitive damages as well. These things will be determined by the court and you need to have a lawyer for that. You can not simply go there and file on your own. It is a must that you do know what you are getting into and have knowledge as to what to expect as to the outcome of your claim.
Do remember, we have the right to be informed truthfully as to what the product is and not be bombarded with false and unproven claims by company. If through such claims you were misled or injured, the law is giving you a legal remedy to file for a claim and be compensated for the damage that false advertisement has cause you.
